Tell us a little bit about your background and the work you did before joining the Volansi team?

After graduating from Embry Riddle Daytona Beach with a degree in Aeronautical Science, I entered into the commercial drone industry during its emerging years. I was a part of founding BNSF Railway’s UAS program. This was the first beyond visual line of sight operation within the United States as a partner in the FAA’s pathfinder program. Years later at another company, I helped to make drone delivery a reality connecting hospitals and clinics with critical medical supplies.

In your own words, what do you do at Volansi?

As a flight operations program manager, I help take a concept and make it a reality. It’s worth mentioning none of this would be possible without the support from a stellar flight operations team who continuously sets the industry standard.

What has been your favorite project so far at Volansi?

Actualizing first-of-its-kind drone delivery programs in two different countries.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy competitive driving events and getting my hands dirty with anything and everything automotive. When I am not in the garage or out on a race track you can find me backpacking or searching for the next adrenaline rush.

Who are your heroes in aviation, drone, or logistics history?

Charles Lindbergh, who completed the first solo transatlantic flight in 33 hours and 30 minutes. His determination to take on the unknown in an airplane overloaded with 450 gallons of gas with no front windscreen was nothing short of remarkable. I recommend anyone read about his journey battling deadly icing, unintentional bouts of sleep and getting lost along the way. It’s a testament to the willpower required to overcome challenges with seemingly no resolve in sight and to do what no person has done before.

We are in the dawn of unmanned flight and autonomous mobility. What are the applications that excite you most?

What Volansi is in the process of bringing to the world! Building and creating an entirely new mode of logistics. Better connecting people to the things they need at a pace not seen before.
